Complete Game is proud to announce the 2016 CG Player of the Year Award…….and that player is Jacob Thigpen of the CG Nationals. Congrats to you!

Jacob is currently at Rockhurst U. as a Freshman, and doing well, both as a Pitcher and Infielder/Hitter. He is a fine player that has a nice approach, and we wish him the best in all he does thru the college years.

At CG, he started with us a 15u player. He always took the ball on the mound, regardless of the situation, and always seemed to step up to the plate ready to get a hit. He made an impression on us from the beginning, that he would be an “impact” player. Over the years, he always seemed to have the same determination to get the job done.

He also played 16u CG Rockies, and 17u CG Rockies and lastly 18u CG Nationals. As a CG Nationals player he was a dominant pitcher on the mound, as their top starter. At the plate, he led the team offensively in several categories. His play earned him a scholarship in college and the chance to keep working on both, hitting and pitching.

In addition, he was named his HS Conference Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Conference with Park Hill South HS.

Jacob had a great year, and we appreciate all of the gains he has made over the years, and we just wanted to give him his due credit. We will add his name to our POY plaque in the CG hallway in the south clubhouse.

In 2016 there were several others that were deserving, and at this time I would just like to let all players know we see you, we appreciate all you are doing, and we will begin to look for a new POY in 2017!
